Gaborone Yacht Club

We went to the Gaborone Yacht Club to watch the sun set with friends. A completely relaxing, fun evening.

I am not a huge "nature person" but I loved the peacefulness and feeling of being away from the city, so close to town.

I lost the battery charger to my little Nikon camera, so these were all taken point and shoot style, mostly while driving, with my new BlackBerry.  I'm pretty impressed by the quality!

I love how you have so many landscape photos for Botswana! What a change from so many architecture/restaurant photos in Argentina (which was also very cool). What a cool adventure your life is wherein you get to immerse yourself so much in p l a c e. Or at least that's how it appears. Thanks for sharing!

It reminds me of the novel Angle of Repose, by Wallace Stegner, even though that's mostly about the American West, but it's also so much about place and contrast and adjustment and recognizing beauty. Probably too complicated to explain in a blog comment. Maybe next time we see you guys in the states . . . or if you read it maybe you already know.

Thanks for the perspective. I have not read that book. I never have time to read any more :( But I did just read the Wiki and Amazon entries. Intriguing. This has been a huge adjustment. Learning a lot about myself. But glad it's a time-limited immersion. I can't wait till next time we're back and can talk and get the girls together.
