Today I made steaks for lunch. We have become steak-eaters here. The hype is well deserved: The steaks here are phenomenal and c-h-e-a-p. I've decided we need to purchase proper steak knives, though.
This was my first time making steak (we usually eat it in restaurants and Neil is a raw-foodist on weekdays) and it turned out pretty well. I made it Argentine-style, with a slice of cheese on top and tomatoes on the side. The avocados were my touch. How could it not be good? Add to that I ate it outside, in the beautiful weather, with my beautiful husband. Yum!

wow- great work! and i think that avocados make anything and everything delicious - they just add a little texture and taste that i LOVE! i made really good turkey burgers with avocado last week and i still dream about it.
I should try turkey burgers sometime, that sounds really good. And I agree, avocados make everything sooo good!
yum pretty much says it.
cheese on steak? What kind of cheese?...looks good!
We grilled steaks for Easter too! You should try Alton brown's recipe for cooking steak. His show is called 'good eats' and it rules the school. He cooks steak in a cast iron skillet and makes a steak sauce with the pan reduction. And you can't go wrong adding cheese to anything.
Corbin, you are so gourmet! I've never heard of this Alton Brown. Thanks for the tip!
Mel, the cheese is some sort of white cheese from the store. That doesn't help, does it? Me no speaky Spanish too good.
wait, i love this whole blog. avocados, steaks, cheese and all. but my favorite? neil's hair. no joke. i'm lovin' it. maybe he should try not cutting it for the entire time you guys are in over there. he's awesome.
