Baby Blue Eyes

I'm loving Nile's blue eyes, where did they come from?! Daddy has them but I thought my brown eyes would squash that? Nice genetic trick, though I'm a little concerned her eyebrows may never be found ...

I think she's adorable!

And not that I'm complaining AT ALL; quite the contrary. I hope her eyes stay this color or at least do something interesting -- I think my brown eyes are so boring.

Smiling at Daddy.

I also love her pointy little chin :)

It's hard to tell from the photos, but how dark are her eyes? One of our pediatricians told me that darker blue ones are more likely to change color later. Owen's still are blue almost 12 months later, so I'm guessing they'll be staying that way. I know what you mean about brown, though.

yeah! I've secretly always been worried that my blue eyes would get squashed out of genetic existence. Glad their is hope. She's a doll no matter what, though!

Oh, she is SO adorable!

And I know just what you mean- I have eyes that are so dark as to almost be BLACK and my totally handsome husband has gorgeous, sparkly blue eyes. My genetics (dark brown eyes) have squashed his (blue eyes) into oblivion.

The real trick of it is to not be hideously jealous of my husband's sister, who married a blue-eyed-guy, which means that my nephews have what are basically my husband's gorgeous blue eyes. Not. Fair. At. ALL.

wow, she looks a lot like you! And I don't just say that easily. She's gorgeous. And I hear you about the eyes. I have blue ones and my husband has brown/green, and I was embarrassed at how much I cared that our first child had brown/green ones! Luckily #2, the girl, has beautiful blues. But I like my son's too. :)

She's a cutie. How could she not be with you and Nils as her genetic forebears? Now that I have one of my own, maybe I'll find a reason to blog again.

Yay, congrats Corbin! Yes, you need to keep us updated.

Thanks all for the compliments :) Her eyes are dark blue but with a light blue ring around the pupils. So who knows which way they'll go.

Kolbi, who knows, maybe the sparkly blues will come out in your grandkids? You'll have to be very selective about who your sons marry ... :P

People do say she looks like me, but it's hard for me to totally see it. I'm excited to see how she changes as she grows up ... wait, I don't want her to ever grow up!

Staying blue, that is my bet. She is so sweet!
