Well, we "knock off" at 1:30 p.m. on Fridays. That is, we get off of work at that time.
I don't know if the phrase is the result of British influence, but they have been "knocking off" at 1:30 p.m. on Fridays in my office for a couple years now, and I can't argue with that. When in Rome, right? Or Botswana ...
